BAGGAGE CARRYING CAPACITY
The flight back from Sun N'Fun 2002, Convention, is a good testimonial to the huge carrying capacity of the SP100.
When we packed all the marketing material that remained at the end of the show (it was land freight to the show) in N601SP generous 20 cu. ft. baggage area we actually wondered how well would the airplane fly. We knew that the load we stuffed in it, is way over the stated baggage carrying capacity of 75 lb. We also wondered how stable will the Super Pulsar 100 fly as the fuel gets burnt off and the C.G shifts aft (Fuel tanks are in the wing's D- section).
The runways at the Lakeland airport are long. We decided to feel the aircraft handling while flying over the runway and determine whether we climb or not. We took off. Controls felt good, the aircraft felt stable so we climbed out. The aircraft continued a steady climb to 10,000 ft. As we leveled off, it was tail heavy and wanted to fly nose high. Down trim took care of it and we continued our level flight. We knew the C.G will shift aft as we burn fuel so we decided to land as soon as the aircraft will exhibit any kind of instability.
Four hours later we were still flying. We burnt off some 24 gallons. That is 144 lb. out of our balancing equation. The Super Pulsar 100 felt very stable and safe through out the landing. I knew right there that I have to weigh the load and calculate the C.G for the take off and landing for this flight as soon as we arrive to our hangar. See photos below.
Let me present you with the amazing carrying capacity and flight safety of the Super Pulsar 100.
The SP100 features a very large
Baggage area.

enormous baggage carrying capacity of the Super Pulsar 100
and also how safe it is to fly, we
flew it back from Sun n’ Fun Convention 2002 loaded up as follows:

very stable and safe in extreme loading configurations, throughout the 2000
miles trip from Lakeland, FL to El Monte, CA.
NOTE: Flying your SP100 should be restricted to within the listed specifications of your kit!
